August 29 is celebrated as International Sports Day. Mr.Devendra, our Physical Education Trainer, organised an inter house “adapted football” match between our three sports houses, namely, Tiger, Leopard and Horse. Adapted football enables children with disabilities to participate in an organised sport which they might otherwise miss out on. There are different kinds of adapted football and in this particular match involved the children kicking the ball below a net tied close to the ground with just enough space for a ball to pass through.
The match was inaugurated by our Correspondent, Mr.Prashanth Krishna. The staff and students thoroughly enjoyed the match which had a close nail biting finish between the Leopard and Horse team. The Leopard team bagged the first prize and the Horse team emerged as the runner up. Mutazha won the cup for the “best player”. The prizes were distributed by Mrs. S. M. Sujatha, Principal of The Grove School.
