Meet the budding chefs of SKLC- November 29, 2016

The senior students who have taken up home science as one of their subjects skilfully exhibited their culinary skills during one of their practical classes.

The students always make a variety of dishes during their practical classes with the aid of the teachers. This practical class was extra special since the students did everything all by themselves from scratch, starting from looking up for recipes to plating them up. They made badam milk, papdi pizza and dates brownie bars. The dishes were indeed a feast to our taste buds.

We’re extremely proud of you children!

Here’s the recipe for one of the creative and healthy dish made by them.

Dates brownie bars


  • 500 grams dates
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup instant oats (raw)
  • Almonds
  • Cashew
  • Pista
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1/4 cup honey


Grind the dates in the mixer until smooth like a dough. Do not add water and make sure there are no lumps.

Take it in a bowl and mix all the other ingredients together till it combines properly.

Now spread them on a plate/tray and refrigerate it for an hour.

Take it out and cut it according to the desired shape. Yummy energy date bars are ready! 🙂
