World Homeless Animals’ Day colouring competition: August 14, 2015

August 15th is Independence Day for us. How many of us know that it is also World Homeless Animals Day? There are numerous number of homeless animals, be it the puppies and dogs with wet noses and wagging tails or the cats and kittens which rest under our vehicle tyres for warmth. If we ever want to have a pet, most of us look for the best breeders to buy puppies which don’t even have an Indian origin. We fail to realize that Indian or desi dogs are most suited, not only for our geographical location but also due to their Indian origin. After all, the best things in life are rescued. 🙂

On recognition of World Homeless Animals’ Day, students from Saraswathi Kendra Learning Centre participated in a colouring competition encouraging the adoption of desi homeless dogs held by Kindness Kids under the auspices of C.P Ramaswami Aiyar Foundation. What could have been a better way to encourage a gesture of compassion and care in our children? 🙂
